Rangers Vs. Phoenix

Rangers Record: 24-23-7
Coyotes Record: 31-18-5
Taking a look at the Eastern Conference playoff picture
Ranger fans know there is no room for error. With the Rangers in their longest
point-less slide in more than three years, a win tonight is a must.
Having lost the last four games one has to notice the
absence of Gaborik’s name from the scorer’s sheet. Gaborik needs a strong game
with a few points to spark this offensively challenged team.
The first meeting of these teams back in October led to
outburst of scoring as Gaborik and Prospal each had three points in a 7 to 3
victory on Garden ice.
Phoenix has had a surprising season and find themselves in a
battle for the fourth playoff spot in the strong Western Conference. Strong
play from Shane Doan and Scottie Upshall has kept this team rolling. However,
Upshall left the last game with a knee injury and is questionable for this
contest.
A change of scenery and a road-trip might help the
Blueshirts get going again with the pressure of the Garden off their backs.
Lundqvist is under the weather and we will likely see Chad
Johnson in net as he was called up from Hartford earlier in the week.
