Rangers vs. Boston

12:30pm, TD Garden

Rangers Record: 31-31-9

Bruins Record: 31-27-12

Despite the fact that the Rangers have taken it to Boston this year winning the previous three matchups, it would not mean a thing if they can not get two-points here. It should be a matchup between two desperate teams as the Rangers try to pick up some ground and the Bruins struggle to hold Atlanta and New York on the outside.

Boston like the Rangers has continued to struggle at home, something either team can seem to figure out why. So the advantage should theoretically go the Rangers, but after the Blues visit to the Garden on Thursday Blueshirt fans are skeptical this team hasn’t packed it in already.

Lundqvist will be in net today as he has been stellar against Boston during his seven seasons in the NHL. His record is 13-3-2 with a 1.33GAA with four shutouts. But; the pressure looked like it cracked the King on Thursday and he took it pretty hard. So look for a great game from him, as he will want this win more than anyone out on the ice.

Can the Rangers beat Boston? Yes.

Will everyone on the Rangers show up and compete? Nobody knows.

Well about a third of the team showed up. They blew what should be their last chance at the playoffs and i would have no issue watching this team lose out the rest of the way to possibly get a top 5 pick and watch the islanders jump over us and be ranked higher. that happens sather and torts will be gone. Good news we have the only team in the nhl that can neither make a pass or catch one.

Possibly the worse move this team can make at this juncture would be to not resign girardi since he has been their best defender in the majority of their games.

the "Joke"nin missed another backcheck which cost the rangers a point today.

Well, another wasted opportunity. This team is clueless and it all starts at the top - with the coach. Hockey Rodent is correct. Torts is useless. Who else can be at fault when these clowns have no PP, not even for 4 minutes, not even with a 2 man advantage. Who else can be at fault when they have a terrible home record (p.s. - home team has last change). Sather has put together a bunch of heartless losers. If Dolan had any rocks, he would can them both and start from scratch.

I have to disagree with thsoe who continually put the blame of this club at the feet of Tortorella. He has been given a bunch of lazy, soft, under-acheiving, hapless, clueless, spoiled nothing's who are more concerned with their salaries and their own names rather than the names on the front of the jersey (to paraphrase the late Herb Brooks). Torts has shown more passion than nearly any other Ranger this season and if you want to place blame it goes sqaurely to the top. Unlike, Sather, Torts has coached a team to a championship this century. You have an owner who I will guarantee couldn't name you all of the names of the current crop of Rangers. Had this owner had any clue about how to run a sports organization, he would have realized after year #2 of the Sather regime that this was a man who is so unqualified to run a lemonade stand - let alone an NHL franchise - that he would have apoligized to a fanbase whose loyalty and insistance on selling out the Garden on a nightly basis borders on the ludicrous. We are now entering year #11.

The truth and facts start at the top and trickle down to the players and everyone else. Only the Rangers would allow such highly respected and talented administrators like Don maloney and 'JD' leave for greener pastures while holding on to this relic of a sham. Only the Rangers would continue to raise the ticket prices to watch a team which would be best viewed in total darkness. And only the Rangers fans, who while their passion and hearts are in the right place would be so blindly devoted to the sweater continue to pack the arena, drink the $8.00 beers and each the $5.00 hotdogs. So long as that practice continues, then Dolan really has no reason to fire Sather.

It has been documented by me continually on this site the absolute insanity of the contracts, free-agent signings, drafting practices and relative horrific personnel changes that Sather has made in his decade plus run here in New York. If Bernie Madoff was the all time great swindler in ripping of stock holders and investors, then Dolan and Sather can't be too far behind as relates to hockey consumers.

It would be laughable if it weren't so sad.
