New York Rangers vs Philadelphia Flyers
Sunday, 12:30 p.m.
Madison Square Garden
Feb. 20, the Rangers return home to take on the Flyers. The Rangers, 2-1 over
their last 3, look to avenge their most recent loss, Friday night against the
Devils. Though New York fought hard and played an extremely strong game, the
team was ultimately unable to overcome its one mistake, and suffered a 1-0
loss. The Flyers are coming off a Friday-night loss as well, as they
surrendered a late lead to the Hurricanes for a 3-2 loss. Both teams will be
looking to redeem themselves this afternoon.
the Rangers, both Brandon Dubinsky and Marian Gaborik had four-game points
streaks snapped on Friday night. The Flyers’ Daniel Briere has scored four
points over his last two games. Rangers’ goalie Henrik Lundqvist has been exceptionally
sharp lately, especially against the Devils on Friday. It is up to him to lead
this team back on to the winning track.
Friday, the Flyers were without captain Brad Richards, who was suffering from
the flu. He should be available to play today. The Rangers continue to be
without forward and captain Chris Drury and forward Ruslan Fedotenko.
is the fourth meeting of the season between the Rangers and the Flyers.
Philadelphia has won all three of the previous matches, and all in convincing
fashion. It will be exciting to
see if the Rangers can turn it around and take advantage of their own recent
good play, and pull out a win against the Eastern-Conference leaders.
