The Bulletin Board keeps you abreast of the latest news
around the NHL Monday-Friday.
- The Pittsburgh Penguins are already without Sidney Crosby,
but now Evgeni Malkin is having injury issues again. Malkin has been held out of the Penguins’
last couple of games with a sore knee. It’s the same one that has been operated on in the past, but the injury
is not considered serious and Malkin is
day-to-day.
- Pittsburgh keeps right on rolling though; the Penguins are
now 3-0-1 after beating the Florida Panthers 4-2 last night. Super pest Matt Cooke picked up his third
goal of the year, tied for the league lead with Anze Kopitar, Phil Kessel and
Jason Chimera. Pittsburgh now has seven
points on the season; no other team has more than four.
- Division realignment continues to be a hot topic. The latest word is that Detroit could
swap places with Winnipeg in the Southeast Division. There have been many more extensive scenarios
discussed, but this would be the simplest fix.
- Injuries are mounting up for the Montreal Canadiens. The team has already lost Chris Campoli for
months and now Michael Cammalleri is out for the
next 10-to-14 days and Jaroslav Spacek will miss the next two-to-three weeks.
- Kyle Turris wants
out of Phoenix.
- There hasn’t been much talk about the Dallas Stars moving,
but if new ownership doesn’t find a way to fill American Airlines Center that
might become a possibility. Dallas drew
just 6,306 on Monday night.
- There are three games on
the slate tonight: Colorado @ Columbus, Vancouver @ Philadelphia and Boston
@ Carolina. Unfortunately, the
heavyweight match between the Canucks and Flyers won’t be on TV, but you can
see Bruins/Hurricanes at 7:30 ET on Versus.

Thoughts.”
