Is Martin St. Louis a Hall of Famer?

The Canadiens fired Perry Pearn just an hour before their game against the Flyers

The Bulletin Board keeps you abreast of the latest news around the NHL Monday-Friday.

- Montreal fired former Rangers’ assistant coach Perry Pearn just an hour before the Canadiens took on the Flyers last night.  Pearn was clearly the scapegoat, but the Canadiens did win their second game of the season as Max Pacioretty led them to a 5-1 victory.

- Former Rangers’ prospect Roman Horak scored his first goal and added an assist in Calgary’s 4-2 victory over Colorado.  Rene Bourque, who’s been the subject of early-season trade rumors, scored twice for the Flames.

- Cory Schneider started in net for Vancouver instead of Roberto Luongo and surrendered three goals as the Canucks were shutout.  Luongo isn’t in danger of losing his starting job just yet, but Schneider is a stud and if Luongo’s struggles continue Vancouver may have no choice but to make a move.

- St. Louis No. 1 goalie Jaroslav Halak has been awful in the early going, and backup Brian Elliot has been brilliant in the interim.  Elliot was unable to seize the starting job in Ottawa, so it’s unlikely that he’ll be able to keep this up for the Blues, but Halak may not see much playing time in the near future.

- The New Jersey Devils are so thin at center that they’ve moved Zach Parise to the middle, so the team claimed Ryan Carter off waivers yesterday.

- The Ottawa Senators sent 2011 first-round pick Mika Zibanejad back to Sweden.  Florida will keep 2010 first-round pick Erik Gudbranson.

- Eric Lindros has confirmed that he will play in the 2012 Winter Classic alumni game for the Philadelphia Flyers.

- It sounds like Edmonton will be getting a new arena.

- Here’s Mike Modano trying out an interesting Halloween costume.

- Check out Jonas Hiller’s awesome goalie mask for Movember.

- There are 11 games on the schedule tonight.  Of course we’ll all be watching the Rangers’ home-opener, but Montreal @ Boston will also be on the NHL Network at 7:00 p.m. ET.
