Milan Michalek was the latest to join a host of All-Stars on the shelf with a concussion

The Bulletin Board keeps you abreast of the latest news around the NHL Monday-Friday.

- The NHL’s leading goal-scorer, Milan Michalek, is the latest player to suffer a concussion.

- Carolina’s Jeff Skinner and Joni Pitkanen have both been sitting out and they, too, have been diagnosed with concussions.  To recap, the NHL’s 2011 Calder Trophy winner (Skinner), leading goal-scorer (Michalek), points leader (Claude Giroux) and the world’s best player (Sidney Crosby) are all out with concussions (or concussion-related issues) right now.  And there are plenty more.

- Minnesota’s Guillaume Latendresse is also out again with post-concussion syndrome.

- Chicago notched a 4-3 shootout win over Minnesota in a battle of Western Conference heavyweights.  Patrick Kane scored the winning goal and it was a beauty.  The Wild still lead the conference by two points.

- Tim Thomas made 47 saves to guide Boston past Ottawa 5-2.  The Bruins are 17-2-1 since November 1st and have tied Philadelphia for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

- Anaheim picked up a 4-1 win over Phoenix to climb out of dead-last in the NHL.  The Ducks received a boost from the return of defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky and got two tallies from Niklas Hagman.

- Islanders’ goalie Rick DiPietro is on injured reserve again with a groin injury.

- Buffalo forward Ville Leino is out weeks with a lower-body injury.

- Washington goalie Tomas Vokoun is struggling big-time and says that right now, “every shot is an adventure.”

- If you missed our recap of the first episode of “24/7,” check it out here.

- There are 10 games on the schedule tonight.  None will be broadcast nationally.
