OFFICIAL NEW YORK RANGERS
FAN CLUB PARTNERS WITH BLUESHIRT BULLETIN
Unique partnership to
foster and unite New York Rangers fan base and community
January 5th 2009, Northport, NY – Today, the
oldest and original New York Rangers fan community joins the only independent
New York Rangers publication in hopes of furthering the fan base and bridging
the gap amongst the fan generations.
The Official New York Rangers Fan Club has agreed to a
unique partnership with the Blueshirt
Bulletin, the Independent Monthly
Publication covering the New York Rangers, which will provide extended
benefits to both members and subscribers.
“It’s an exciting venture for both parties,” explained
Blueshirt Bulletin Editor and Publisher Daniel Akeson. “The Fan Club consists
of the most loyal fans and has a rich history and tradition that we are proud
to become a part of. We are eager to unite our readership with this devoted
organization.”
The Fan Club began in 1950 as part of the original NHL
Booster Club and continues to thrive today as the official club for the
organization. With countless members throughout their history, the Fan Club
continues to find new and innovative ways of uniting the membership.
“The Fan Club has always looked to bring the fan community
together and expose them to aspects of the team that they cannot regularly
receive,” said Fan Club President Kerry Tricarico. “As we look toward the new
generations of Rangers’ fans, we recognize the quality coverage that Blueshirt Bulletin provides and are
excited to welcome their extensive following to our community.”
Blueshirt Bulletin is the only independent monthly publication covering the New York Rangers.
Since its inception, Blueshirt Bulletin has aimed at providing thorough and
objective coverage of the team.
The publication receives monthly contributions from some of New York’s top sports
writers including Steve Zipay of Newsday and Andrew Gross of The Record as
well as professional online hockey writers Jim Cerny of NewYorkRangers.com and Dan Rosen of NHL.com.
There are historical connections between the Blueshirt Bulletin and Fan Club as
well. Former Rangers Director of Public
Relations John Halligan is a monthly contributor as well as a longtime fan club
supporter.
MSG Network personality Stan Fischler is Blueshirt Bulletin’s most recent monthly
contributor, but his roots began several years ago with the Fan Club. Fischler
began the Rangers Review, the
official Fan Club Newsletter and years later, Akeson took over as
Editor-In-Chief and now incorporates it into each monthly issue.
The partnership will begin benefitting members and
subscribers immediately with the January mailing of the Blueshirt Bulletin and February 15th meeting of the Fan
Club.
For current Fan Club members, every member will receive a
complimentary one-year (10 issues) subscription to the Blueshirt Bulletin. Each
member will receive an “Associate Subscriber” status. These benefits include:
- · First-come, first-serve access to Blueshirt
Bulletin events
- · Ten (10) issues of the Blueshirt Bulletin Print
Edition
- · Renewal of the “Associate Subscription” for a
reduced rate of $20 for one-year (10 issues), $35 for two-years (20 issues),
and $45 for three-years (30 issues)
- · The “Associate Subscription” does not include
access to Blueshirt Bulletin Plus, the exclusive password protected website and
any of its content and multimedia.
For current Blueshirt Bulletin subscribers, every subscriber
will receive a complimentary one-year membership to the Fan Club. Each
subscriber will receive an “Associate Member” status. These benefits include:
- · First-come, first-serve access to the Fan Club
meetings
- · First-come, first-serve access to all Fan Club
events
- · Receipt of the Rangers Review, the official
newsletter of the Fan Club
- · An official online "My Fan Club" area
- · Renewal of the “Associate Membership” for a
reduced rate of $15 for an individual, and $30 for a family
- · The “Associate Membership” does not include
voting right, guaranteed entry to any Fan Club event, or entry to the year-end
NHL Booster Club Convention in Las Vegas
Any member or subscriber may upgrade their status at any
time to receive the full benefits. Terms of both the “Associate Membership” and
“Associate Subscriber” benefits may alter during the partnership.
“Jointly, we hope to renew a spark within the Rangers fan
base. New York Rangers’ fans are some of the most die-hard supporters of any
sports team world-wide and this partnership will not only further unite them,
but enable unique joint promotional opportunities,” added Akeson.
“We hope to kick-off this venture with a bang by having a
guest professional round-table discussion at our February 15th meeting,” said Tricarico.
“We hope that this event will prompt further exclusive events and functions in
the future.”
The meeting is scheduled for 7 pm. at the Workmen’s Circle
located at 45 E. 33rd St. between Park and Madison Avenue.
