It took an extra 9:13 but the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds were able to earn a 3-2 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs. Tim Gettinger had an assist as the Greyhounds tied the OHL championship final at 2-2.
Honestly not sure how the Greyhounds won this one as they were outplayed for most of this game by the Bulldogs. Outside of the second period, Hamilton was the better team but Greyhound’s goalie Matthew Villata stole this win. Villata was the game’s second star after stopping 45 of 47 shots.
Gettinger earned his only point when he started Jack Koppacka off on a rush with a nifty backhanded pass along the boards. Kopacka took the puck up ice, missed on his first shot but the goalie pretty much gave him back the puck. Kopacka took advantage of the second chance and stuffed it past the goalie on the short side for the goal.

Gettinger got the only assist on the play for his 15th assist and 21st point of the playoffs. In addition, Gettinger was a +2 on two shots but was 2-3 on faceoffs. The series heads back to Sault Ste. Marie for game five on Friday.
