Prospect Park: Gettinger’s Greyhounds Get To Go To Game Seven

In News, Prospect Park by Jess Rubenstein

It is really simple Tim Gettinger and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds failed to get the job done in game six. The Greyhounds dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday and are forced to game seven. The home team has won all six games played in the OHL Western Conference Final.

Tim Gettinger was scoreless on just three shots, a -1 and he was 1-7 on faceoffs. This series has been about non-calls and some questionable hits and now a dumb move. Kitchener’s Giovanni Smith played a solid game with a 1-2-3 +3 effort, set up the game-winning goal. THen he gave the Greyhounds the best motivation for game seven one could ask for when he did this:

Forgive me but what kind of stupid thing was this to do? Classless, lacking in sportsmanship and at worst moronic. The Greyhounds were reportedly copying off images of this for their locker room on Monday night. Ohe has to wonder if the OHL might suspend him for his behavior but given the importance of the game, it is doubtful they will.
