While Tim Gettinger is off to a very nice start to his season, his Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds are having mixed results. Gettinger scored his third goal in as many games but the Greyhound lost in overtime to the Barrie Colts 4-3.
With the score tied at two in the third period, Gettinger scored his first even-strength goal of the season giving the Greyhounds a 3-2 lead that they could not protect. Gettinger found a loose puck that had gone off the backboard and bounced right in front and stuffed it in for an easy goal. Really have to love the way Gettinger has started this season as he is attacking the net, using his size to his advantage and six points in three games is a very nice start.
Besides the goal, Gettinger was a +1 on two shots with an “unsportsmanlike conduct” minor in the second period.
We have highlights from the game courtesy of the OHL’s Twitter feed. Gettinger’s goal starts at the 1:40 mark of the clip.
