Wednesday Prospects

In News, Prospect Park by Jess Rubenstein

Just like Tuesday there were just two New York Ranger prospects in action on Wednesday evening and like Tuesday, the action was in the WHL. Unlike Tuesday the Ranger prospects had quiet evenings and were not really factors in the outcomes of their games. Brad Morrison (2015 fourth) and his Prince George Cougars once again played host to the Calgary Hitmen who they defeated 5-2 on Tuesday evening. Wednesday night the Cougars made it two straight wins with this one being a 5-0 spanking of the Hitmen.

Morrison was scoreless in this one as Prince George’s third leading scorer had a quiet game. Prince George improves to 7-5 on the season as they hit the road for four games over eight nights as they take on three teams in the British Columbia Division starting with Kelowna on Friday.

Ryan Gropp (2015 second) and his Seattle Thunderbirds extended their unbeaten streak to seven games after they edged the Tri-City Americans 3-2. Gropp was scoreless and had a quiet game except for a minor for cross checking. The Thunderbirds lead the US Division in the WHL’s Western Conference with a 6-1-1 record.
